Responsibilities: Supervise the actions and outcomes of service recipients enrolled in supported living program, which at present count is 22 and growing, supervise their assigned direct support professionals, which at present count is 60 and growing. Also supervise an office staff of three. I also make sure there is consistent communication with other departments, family members, conservators, advocates and Individual Service Coordinators, and provide the best quality of life that is possible for each individual recipient.

Experience: 31 years of nursing experience with three years of experience in the ID/DD field.

Education: Graduated from Foley High School in Foley, AL. I attended a three year nursing diploma program at Mastin School of Nursing, The University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL. 31 years of nursing experience specializing in CCU/telemetry, Med-Surg, and ER.

Goals for your department or the agency in general: Continue to strive for continuity of care, increase the size of the program, recipients and employees.

Accomplishments/ Successes regarding serving individuals with disabilities:
Have had past certificates in PALS, ACLS, Trauma Nursing. Member of DDNA (Developmental Disabilities Nursing Association). Who's Who in Nursing 1990-1991, Manchester Who's Who of Executives and Professionals 2005-2006.

Any other information you would like to provide: I never knew that this kind of work was out there when I was working in the hospitals. The satisfaction that I feel on this job is indescribable. It is the best job I have ever had, and I've had jobs in some of the best facilities in Texas, Arizona, and Alabama.
